DAY
1: BHUJ
Arrival
at Bhuj, which is a flourishing walled city, is the most important
town in the area. The old part of this walled town is a tightly
packed maze of narrow winding streets, where horse drawn tongas,
go about their business and the odd camel trundles past. It
is a town with some character, where you breathe the air of
the past, rub shoulders with tribal people turned out in colorful
traditional costumes and where friendly shopkeepers in the
baza, have not learnt the art of high-pressure sales. An ancient
city that reflects the very essence of the region, it is embellished
with fine monuments, palaces and gardens in a windswept land.
On arrival, check in to the hotel. After fresh –n up
drive to Nakhatrana (Fossil park) – Mata –no –
madh is an old temple believed to be 1200 years old. It is
dedicated to the Mother Goddess.
The temple has many unusual features and its treatment of
dimensions and of space is unique. – Lakhpat - once
of flourishing port, and now deserted, reminds one that in
ancient times, ships sailed to West Asia from Gujarat's west
coast. Time stands still at Lakhpat, recalling to mind an
era long past, through the many sites in the city, including
the Sikh Gurudwara, and the 200-year tomb or dargah of Ghaus
mohammed Kaba, Narayan Sarovar menas the Lake of Narayan,
a name for Vishnu. There are actually five sacred lakes here.
A temple complex is located on one of these. Narayan sarovar
is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for orthodox Hindus.
The architecture is ancient and awe-inspiring. – Koteshwar

DAY
2: BHUJ
After breakfast visit to Kera Shivtemple,
Anjar (Jesal Toral Samadhi) near Gandhidam, is famous for
the samadhi of Jesal Toral, the Ajaypal Temple, and the shrine
of Pinjora Pir. The bungalow of James Macmurdo contains remarkable
examples of the art of Kutch. 72 Jinalaya, Mandvi –
Palace & Beach,in southern Kutch, is a renowned holiday
center with a beach overlooking the Arabian Sea. Return to
Bhuj. Balance day is at leisure. Dinner & overnight stay
at the hotel.
Day
3: BHUJ
After breakfast drive to Khavda - Banni
are villages set like jewels in an expanse of desert. In these
villages live some of the most talented craftsmen of Kutch
who practice their traditional skills, to produce artistic
masterpieces.
Kalo Dungar, & Handicraft
Vilages – Lodiya, Bhirandyara, etc & Return to Bhuj.
Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day
4: BHUJ
After
breakfast drive to Dholavira was once an important part of
the Harappa Civilisation, proving that the Harappa culture
extended to Gujarat. Excavations are still in progress. visit
the most important archaeological site of Indus Valley Civilization.
Return to Bhuj. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel
Day 5: BHUJ
After breakfast whole day free for local
sight seeing & shopping, after lunch departure for Dhrang
Mela, which is another location famous for its rural fair
and for the handicrafts, traditional objects, hand-printed
and embroidered fabric made and sold there. It is also famous
for jewellery available there, participation in the Mela &
& after dinner leave for return journey.
